Synopsis: Naomi and Jesse have been living peacefully for the past few months, like normal teenagers, but now the spirit world has a new task for them. Author Bio: Kay Causer currently lives in the north-east of England where she studied for her degree in English and History at Northumbria University. She doesn't remember even learning to read but as soon as she could she started creating her own stories. Her favourite genre is fantasy and most of her stories revolve around anything to do with the supernatural in some form or other.

When not writing, she spends entirely too much time watching Disney movies, listening to kpop songs and eating toast, because life is too short to not have fun while you can.

Hummingbird by Kay Causer

At first we are only given quick glimpses into the spirit world and it seems as everything is slowly coming to the reader, allowing them to soak in the information and yet still keep their attention. It isn't hard to get lost in the world as it's set in a familiar one that any person on Earth would at least know of from books and films. But when we start to get a glimpse into the supernatural world that surrounds Naomi it comes in slowly enough to allow the reader to get a grip on this new world within our own but also it isn't so slow that the reader loses interest. It's easy enough to get the necessary information from the book with very little confusion if any.
