Hot and Bothered by Lynn Raye Harris!

This story. All of the Hostile Operations Team books have a different plot line but you always know that there will be a happy ending and a difficult road to travel. Ryan and Emily's road wasn't any different. If anything they had much more to overcome in some ways. Lynn Raye Harris has created another surprising but amazing romantic suspense plot line! 

Emily and Ryan were also characters that were well created and fleshed out. The characters were easily three-dimensional without being perfect or over the top.

Lynn Raye Harris is certainly one of my favorite romantic suspense novels. She's extremely talented in creating novels that carry the reader along without thought to the passing of time and creating characters that are easy to fall in love with. 

Hot and Bothered is an amazing addition to the Hostile Operations Team Series!

Hot Ice by Lynn Raye Harris

But when he gets past Grace's somewhat cold exterior, he finds the woman behind irresistible. But there are people who would kill to gain access to Grace's research. At first we get to meet Grace, and I immediately just clicked with her. Mostly because she sounds very very similar to me. She was different than many of the HOT men's women as she wasn't immediately feisty. But she's gotten a hidden depth that few get to see and it was fun to see it come out. And Garrett. Obviously has had issues and is still having issues with the woman from his past. You definitely feel annoyance that some people can't put aside their differences for their child. And by that I mean, Garrett's ex-wife is constantly badmouthing him around his daughter and that severely annoyed me, even only hearing it second hand from Garrett.

Hot Ice is what you've come to expect from Lynn Raye Harris. A well written story, with emotional as well as physical conflict and confusing alliances all around. She's created characters that are flawed but you still fall in love with them.


Over all, Hot Ice compares well with the previous books in the series and from the set-up in the book, I hope Ryan and Emily's story is coming next!

Basilisk's Creed Omnibus by Eme Strife

I'm gonna get what I didn't really like or thought needed work out of the way before jumping into the great things about this book. One thing that I occasionally noticed(more like once in a blue moon) is that while the writing was good for the most part, there were occasional spots where things were choppy or word choice could have been better. But for the most part everything worked, you could read without being suddenly jolted out of the book(unless your phone went off or your alarm). 

We get perspective from both Matt's and Eli's perspectives and occasionally there's overlap between the two. While the dialogue would be repetitive(although we don't really see this as Eme Strife doesn't really include that much of the dialogue in the second perspective) it was a completely different view on the same event. It definitely made you think and allowed you a chance to see why someone was acting how they were. Which kept things moving for sure!

Another thing I liked but also didn't like about The Basilisk's Creed Omnibus is that there were a lot of questions that kept popping up. If you'd get an answer you'd just find a new question. While it was fun and I liked that, I also don't like that? Mostly because I can be curious but than sometimes I'm just like no, I don't want to be. But if you really like having questions that seem to just keep coming than this is definitely your book.

The Basilisk's Creed Omnibus was a good read, and it left more to be told. It released on the 19th of September and you can now purchase it at the following links: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo Books.
