Review:

I love love love this book! There were so many moments where I moaned and groaned over the actions of the main characters but it was that kind of thing where you see a friend doing something and want to say something but at the same time know it probably won't do much good. In fact all of the characters, including Annie felt like friends that you were watching go through their life. The plotline was quite interesting and the small peeks we had into the villan's head was intriquing just as much as it was slightly frustrating because you wanted so badly for Fletch to get a clue!

The book was well written as all of Susan Stoker's books are and I'm interested in seeing how the rest of the team's stories go!

It was really great to catch up with V and Dom, especially now that they're married and living together. It's nice to see that their relationship had developed to that point and they were happy. Although I have to admit that I did want to smack both at one point or another. Dom didn't seem to be learning lessons from his past and it was slightly frustrating. So yes, I have to say I loved the characters. And we were introduced to two new perspectives; that of Carmine and Theresa. Who I have to say I cannot wait to hear more from.

It was amazing that Tara Oakes didn't portray V and Dom's life as perfect. There were ups and downs that they had to work out in order to remain happy with each other. It didn't just fall into place and require no work at all. Not to mention there was more "family" involved. And I have to say I'm shocked that I'm actually finding these types of romance more and more interesting as I find some more and more family or mob romances.

I WANT MORE RIGHT NOW. Can that be a thing?

The Dybbuk's Mirror by Alisse Lee Goldenberg

I found that in The Dybbuk's Mirror I could relate to Carrie a little better.  I did connect with her a bit before but I did so much more in this book as I could understand her feelings a little better. Especially about her friends. That definitely made me think about the past three years. It was great to be able to make that connection stronger with Carrie. It made the book even more enjoyable.

At first the disappearance of Rebecca and Lindsay wasn't made obvious. Just a few little things that you don't think about until it becomes clear that something is going on. 

Again Alisse Lee Goldenberg intrigues the reader, giving them questions that they sometimes are given answers to right away while others they have to wait for. It keeps the reader interested and reading. 

I found  that the description of food/drinks and the taste of those foods and/or drinks was really well done. I could almost taste the things that Carrie was describing and I really enjoyed that. It was really well done.

At times I've found Emilia almost too composed, but seeing her freak out at one point makes me feel like she's a little more easy to relate to.  This made me feel a little less like she was perfect all the time and thus cold or not really feeling anything towards her to melting a little towards her as a character.

The decisions that have to be made are terrible and I'm glad that Alisse Lee Goldenberg made it seem as if the characters were really struggling with these decisions. It made them seem like real people and less untouchable or at a distance from a reader. As well as being more realistic. 

The Dybbuk's Mirror lived up to the first book in the series and if you read and loved The Strings of the Violin than you won't be disappointed by the sequel.

One Funeral by Kat Bastion and Stone Bastion

Hannah and Cade have decided to give themselves a chance together. But Hannah isn't exactly sure she can trust in her feelings. Cade's determined they can so he moves with patience, taking it slow. But will everything slowly crumble apart of will they be able to make it through to the other side? Find the official description on Goodreads.

In One Funeral, you can find the descriptions of people and places will get really detailed. However instead of getting to the point of boredom with these descriptions, the authors add some kind of spin to them that makes them interesting or just the way Hannah sees things is interesting. I really enjoyed all of the descriptions and felt that I could see everything in my head. 

One Funeral, instead of being in Cade's perspective was from Hannah's. I was a little leery at first because I really enjoyed Cade's perspective and while I do enjoy Hannah's character I wasn't sure how I'd feel about being in her head. But I had no reason to worry. Hannah's personality was clear to see and still as great as it had been throughout her thought processes. And we were able to get a new perspective on a situation which also adds depth to it. Although I am going to say that I still love Cade even if we weren't in his head.

We also see extended metaphors at least once in One Funeral. While they were metaphors that are used quite a lot, Kat Bastion and Stone Bastion went into more depth and really created a metaphor that didn't sound overused and really sounded much more interesting, using Hannah's voice.

Throughout the book, readers are also given a look at texts between Hannah and Cade. While these can sometimes get confusing about who's sending what, both authors made sure that the reader could easily tell who was sending what. It kept things light and did not make the readers frustrated.

One Funerals is a great addition to the No  Weddings Series, and I can't wait to see more! One Funeral is set to release September 29th, and I definitely think you should grab a copy!
