Dean has a plan too.
Survive. After being subjected to his foster father’s violent attacks, Dean
made the hard choice to leave. Now he lives on the streets doing everything he
can to get by, refusing to let people help him. But when he meets Anna, he
realizes not everyone is out to hurt him.

Slowly, Anna and Dean
let each other in, blending their two worlds into one. But when a series of
events brings Dean’s world into perspective, he pushes Anna away. Not willing
to accept the line that divides them, Anna sets out to bring Dean back to her.
Her determination and faith in their future puts her on the tracks of danger,
and he is the only one who can save her.

Review:
The writing style and just the writing in general in Home Is Where You Are draws the reader in. The author can be talking about something ordinary that you do everyday and yet it’s still interesting. It was also realistic. Not in the way that there wasn’t any paranormal elements(although that as well) but the fact that the characters aren’t perfect and do have their flaws. Their reactions are also realistic. And it’s not hard to imagine hearing about this somewhere. It wasn’t hard to get into the book because of this.

Anna’s chapters seemed to almost balance out Dean’s chapters, but that didn’t mean that Anna’s chapters were always happy happy, everything’s great. What I mean by that is that while we get Dean’s perspective on his homelessness, we also get to experience what we have but through someone else’s eyes. This gives us a chance to get both perspectives and not just base Anna’s reactions on our own.

The dialogue between the two was light and fun sometimes which balanced out the more difficult topics. This made things easy to read as there was no down in the pits of despair. But at the same time it wasn’t so happy that you didn’t believe it could actually happen.

Then there were moments that just had your heart pounding. There weren’t many but there were enough that you honestly felt like these were more your best friends than just characters in a book.

I loved Home is Where You Are. It’s a well written book that will have readers glued to their books or e-readers. It was just released today and you should give it a chance!
