Lucas by V.A. Dold!

(Image found on Goodreads)

Lucas is finally the proud owner of his own ranch and is settings things up. Unbeknownst to him, Krystal has a special ability...and she's found his mate. Kenzie is a workaholic who comes to visit her sister. And yet, she's already managed to flatten the ranch's owner, make her sister mad and fall for Lucas, even while knowing she's leaving soon. But when her life is threatened, will she trust Lucas to help her? Or will she try to face it alone? Find the official description on Goodreads.

The novel starts with a familiar scene; Emma praying to the goddess and discovering the mate of her son Lucas. But it's different in the way that it isn't set in New Orleans. Lucas has moved and with him his cousin Krystal. There's also the fact that Lucas is going on during some of the events that take place in the Cade and Anna novella. So those two things set Lucas apart from the series already.

Lucas was certainly a knowledgeable character and so the author must have done her research and done it thoroughly. That was well done. Not to mention all of the characters mentioned in the book were well developed already, and if they weren't they developed as characters throughout Lucas. Kenzie was certainly an interesting character that knew what she wanted and worked hard to get it.

Lucas dealt with a lot of different emotions but never once did I feel overwhelmed with all of the things going on.

Lucas was a great read and I really cannot wait to read more about the Le Beaus or by V.A. Dold in general.

Thomas by V.A. Dold

(Image found on Goodreads)

Thomas is keeping busy being head of security for his grandfather. Julia is happy with her life owning her bar. But her mother wants so much more, including for her and her sister Krystal to be married to pureblood shifters. But Julia refuses to marry anyone who is not her mate. When she meets Thomas, she knows that he is her mate and must fight through Thomas' defenses as well as certain other problems in order to claim her mate. Find the official description on Goodreads.

There was a bit of an overlap in Thomas but since it was told from a different perspective then it wasn't really that much of an annoyance. It was actually really interesting to see it from Thomas' point of view because he has a different look at the situation as well as a different way of viewing it.

I liked the writing. V.A. Dold has created characters that are well done and life like as well as keeping the words flowing well. In Thomas the dynamic was a bit different as this time it was the female who was the wolf and the male was human. So that was interesting to see. You could look and see if things were different or similar.

I enjoy the family feeling you get whenever you read about the Le Beaus. It's just this all encompassing feeling throughout the book that makes you warm inside. Not to mention the book itself is hot.

And as usual, the ending of Thomas sets up the next book in the series which I`m sure will continue marvelously!

Stefan by V.A. Dold

BLURB:   El is a beautiful, successful, plus sized woman suffering from a debilitating humiliation that has left her hating all handsome, wealthy men exactly like Stefan Le Beau. Unfortunately for Le Beau, she’s known him since she was sixteen and was totally snubbed by him. To her, he’s a hound dog and a man-whore.
Stefan is a playboy to the extreme with one hard and fast rule: date a woman only once, take her to bed, and be gone before morning.
Until El.
Stefan’s dream of finding his mate comes true when he bids two hundred thousand dollars to win a date with El at Simon’s charity ball. Money well spent in his opinion.
Now, if she would only talk to him. Or look at him. Or touch him, or…like him.
Can Stefan convince El he's a reformed man?
Can El learn to trust a man who is the epitome of what she avoids and could shatter her heart?
It will require drastic, strategic measures from the entire family to make this mating happen.

Stefan compares well with the previous two books in the series if adding a little more to the danger level to the family. And that's a good thing. There's the sole arc of Stefan trying to win El but the books in the series are all connected by several story lines that maybe don't take a whole lot of precedence overall in the book but that are just as important.

You also get familiar characters and that made me smile. You get to check in with the previous pairs and see the meddling Emma at work once more. Which admittedly gives me kind of shivers while making me laugh at the same time.

The writing was well done and easy to read, especially with that Cajun accent and some french phrases thrown in as well. Can anyone say sigh. I'm all for a good British or English accent but Cajun's slow drawl is a close third.

I just enjoy the relationships between family members. It's easy, loving and I just love that feeling.

If you're looking for a shifter romance than the Le Beau Brothers series is a good read. And I'm excited to see some more from V.A. Dold.

BIO:  V.A.Dold is the bestselling author of the Le Beau Brothers series, New Orleans wolf shifter novels. A graduate of Saint Cloud University, she majored in marketing. Prior to becoming a full time writer, she was a publicist to the authors, owning Innovative Online Book Tours and ARC Author & Reader Con's (ARC NOLA) (ARC Phoenix). Still is. The companies mesh so well together, much like PB&J.
Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter filled with nothing but her computer, her coffee mug and the Brothers, of course.
A Minnesota native with her heart lost to Louisiana, she has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading or traveling.
Her earliest reading memories are from grade school. She had a major fixation with horses, and the Black Stallion was a favorite. Then junior high came along and teenage hormones kicked in. It became all about the Harlequin Romances. She has been hooked on romances ever since.
