Cade and Anna by V.A. Dold Blog Tour!

BLURB:  When Dr. Marjorie schedules an ultrasound for Anna, Cade begins to go into paranoid meltdown. Something must be wrong! He’s sure of it.

Seeing his Daughter on the computer screen larger than life sets Cade onto a path of foolish, well-meaning choices. In a state of panic, he instigates a series of disastrous projects with the Help of Simon, Stefan, and Thomas.

The final disaster lands Cade and Anna stranded on the family’s island with Anna in labor and no help in sight.

REVIEW:
When I was contacted about this opportunity I couldn't wait to jump on. And there was no disappointment. I enjoyed every moment of this novella. Not only do we get to see Cade sweating(both literally and figuratively), we also get more of the sweet moments that made us swoon in the first place. And that was beautiful. Not to mention some amazing family moments, that just made me want to awwwww...

There were so many laughs had during this book before getting to the serious and differently beautiful. V.A. Dold has created characters and plots that draw the reader in and make them fall in love. I enjoyed the plot of this novella and the fact that we were given different perspectives on some of the events we've seen previously.

Cade crept into the house as quietly as possible. Anna had been up all night. Worrying over the ultrasound had compounded her insomnia, and she was finally getting some rest. If his luck held out, they could get the painting done before she woke up. Setting the paint cans on the newspaper he had spread over the carpeting, he looked at the closed window. He’d better crack all the windows, so the smell of paint didn’t wake her either.

The quiet sound of a tiptoeing army let him know the guys had arrived. Keeping them quiet was going to be a challenge.
“Hey, Cade,” Simon whispered.
“Hi, guy’s. Thanks for coming. We don’t have a lot of time, so let's try to hurry. Simon, could you start taping the trim?”
“Sure.” Simon dug the painter’s tape from the shopping bag.
“Thomas, could you cut in the edges?”
“Cool, my favorite part of painting.”
“You’ve done this before?” Cade asked.
“Sure, haven’t you?” Thomas asked over his shoulder as he grabbed his supplies. Suddenly, he straightened and spun around. “Oh, shit! Please tell me you know what you’re doing.”
“Well...the guy at the hardware store told me what to do and made sure I had all the brushes and stuff. We’ll be fine.”
“Shit,” Thomas hung his head in defeat. “We’re going to die.”
“Oh, come on. Quit being dramatic and get painting.” Cade scowled.
“Okay, but when she goes atomic, rabid wolf on your ass, I’m laying all the blame at your feet.”
That thought had Cade hesitating for a moment before he shook his head.
No, this is a good idea, he thought, as he convinced himself to follow through with his plan.
Shaking it off, he turned to Stefan. “Take one of these pans and fill the end with paint and start rolling it on. I’ll work on this wall with another roller. The hardware guy said paint at angles, so we’ll do that.”
Stefan rolled a few random stripes on the wall before he pulled the roller away and stepped back to eye the paint. Frowning, he looked at Cade. “This looks really bright. Are you sure this is the right color? It looks – neon.”
“The sample was really pretty. Just keep painting and allow it to dry. It will look different than when it’s wet.”
Stefan eyed the wall again. “All right, if you’re sure.”
He was still looking at Cade’s wall as he walked backward toward his own. A squeak broke from his throat as he stepped on the slippery lid of the open paint can. Catching air, his feet flew from under him as he went down hard.
In his panic to stop his fall, he jerked the newspaper the open can was on. Like a teeter-totter, as Stefan went down, the can went up. The paint sailed in every direction. Nothing escaped the airborne, psychedelic pink destruction.

The Test by Gregg Bell

(Image found on Goodreads)

Mary is finding life and love are not so simple. With only one more chance to pass the bar, and the stress of her love life, she's feeling down on her luck. Tom is determined to follow his family's tradition and he hopes that after a short break, that Mary is the one he wants to do that with. But the unexpected comes into play and they must determine if they can make it through this. Find the official description on Goodreads.

The story of Mary and Tom is told in bits and pieces although this feels very real as it's usually something that the character is thinking of at the time. The first person perspective allows a view of both characters and not at the same time. It allows you some insight into the characters at one point but not at another. I did find that Mary was very frustrating to me. She just kept putting things off or moving things around. And I know that I do that at times and so I should be a little less frustrated with it but her constant going on about it was slightly frustrating. But I did find that Tom had his flaws as well.

The plot was alright. It didn't draw me in and I occasionally found myself getting distracted. The writing was great. It was well done and executed.

Overall, The Test was a good book and if it sounds interesting to you then you should certainly give it a read.

(Image found via Goodreads)

Dylan is struggling to come to terms with everything and make sure his child and Heaven are safe. Layne is developing his abilities and struggling with his feelings for Heaven. Meanwhile Heaven is trying to make sure her baby is safe as well as keeping the peace between Dylan and Layne. Tensions rise, and things will quickly come to the boiling point. Will everyone survive or is the power of good going to be defeated? Find the official description on Goodreads.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK! This book series has been keeping me on my toes but What the Heart Desires takes it to the breaking point! I just.....all the way through this book I was trying to decide if I was going to end up in tears or wanting to growl and groan at someone(preferably a character and not a friend). The plot was interesting, high emotions, and that cliffhanger left me begging for the next book! Or at least the first chapter. I would read the next book chapter by slow chapter if that's the way I had to read it. The shockers just kept coming.

The characters were also developing and your emotions about the characters are constantly in flux. Dylan, Layne and Heaven as well as their families are so difficult to deal with at times and yet you can't put the book down!

I had such a hard time not reading this book all in one sitting, but there was homework to get done and classes to get through. So it was a struggle but I was able to.

If you're a fan of romances with soul mates than you need to check this series out!
