Question for You!

(Image found using Google)

Blah, I feel like I haven't done one of these posts in a while! But I'm happy to be posting something other than a review or tour stop or book related thing....okay well it won't be entirely non-book related but whatever. You get my drift. So, little update, still working like a bee in order to get money for school. Now I'm also trained in several different departments(or I will be soon) so yay for learning new things! Plus I got this great opportunity to read even more books and review them over at The Booklanders! I'm excited for this new opportunity. But no worries, I'm not going to let that interfere with Reading Shy. I've still got plenty planned for the next few months and I look forward to making even more plans.

So, it's summer(or will be in a few days officially, I mean). Ready for it? What are your plans for summer? What are you planning to read? I have several books that I'm looking forward to reading! Some from my favorite authors, others from authors that were unknown to me before. It's all a great big adventure!

Now, I have one more question for you all. What do you think about me including my own description of the books and then linking to the official Goodreads description? Would you rather I just linked to the Goodreads description or included it in my post? I'd like to hear what my readers think about it and go from there. I'm sort of biased in that way so I need some objective opinions. What do you think?

So, I've got plenty for you to look forward to and I can't wait to hear from you guys!

Catch Your Breath by Shannyn Schroeder

(Image found on Goodreads)
"I wouldn't want anything to happen to you." -Shannyn Schroeder, Catch Your Breath

Jimmy O'Malley is trying to work his way up the latter at the local PD but when his case brings him in contact with his best friend's little sister, the one that he's been trying to ignore since they were teens. But Moira is a reporter who is in the social scene he needs to be accepted by. But when Moira sticks her nose farther into his case, will these two go head to head or will everything work out? Find the official description on Goodreads.

Catch Your Breath was an interesting read. I enjoyed the humorous back and forth of the characters as well as the family interaction. Both lent a fun spin to the book. I also loved the best friend's sister and the best friend getting together, especially because they had an interest in each other from when they were young. Call me anything but I love the couples that have a lot of background. I love when they've known each other forever and finally get together. It just seems to work out so well and the fact that they have a past makes things more interesting because they can skip over all the getting to know you bit.

Then there was Moira. She's lively, fun and invigorating. She helps to grab the reader's attention, and draw them in. I found myself reading just to see what Moira was going to do or say. It was amusing and she kept things light.

Then there were some of the opinions that the characters had. For example, Moira mentions that Escorts are viewed as bad or terrible people when the men who hired them are seen as okay. It's an interesting opinion and I liked when the characters would go back and forth about it. It was different and engaging.

Catch Your Breath is being released on July 3rd. Be sure to check it out! Oh! And I almost forgot! This book is part of the O'Leary series but can be read as a standalone!
