Birthright by Vivian Eve

(Image found on Goodreads.)
“...in order to move forward, we cannot allow ourselves to forever dwell in the past.” - Vivian Eve, Birthright

A tyrant rules Arenhed. This doesn't seem to have any effect on the life of Hedy until one day the unexpected and terrible happens. Hedy loses everything. The village she calls home, her best friend, her mother, the last of her family. And now she finds herself in a world of dangerous politics where one mistake could cost her her life and the lives of those around her. Find the description on Goodreads.

Birthright was an interesting read. Right from the very beginning, the action draws you in, and keeping things hopping. The plot is full of twists and turns, some of which you think you understand fully, but of which it is actually impossible to fully guess. The ending was certainly a shock. I had some thoughts but I certainly couldn't have guessed the true ending. Vivian Eve has created a book that is engaging, and keeps the reader guessing. She drops clues and sometimes you might be in the right direction but then you might not.

Hedy was a different character. She's haunted by nightmares that seem to make little sense, much like the nightmares that we frequently have. And yet, there are clues hidden within them. Hedy was a character that I sympathized with because she lost everything and was focused on gaining revenge for all she'd lost. It certainly drew me as a reader to her character. Lucas just seemed too detached(for good reason) for me to feel attached to him in any way and so Hedy was the character I found myself paying the most attention to and jumping into her head.

If you're a fan of fantasy books with magic, knights, and ancient times than this book is certainly one you should look into. It's a great read and one that will keep you engrossed.

  1. Great blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but
I'm a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with
a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many
choices out there that I'm totally confused ..
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    1. First of all, thanks! I think the biggest thing is find your own style and use that(oh and try to avoid using the word interesting for everything, haha)l
That's great! I'd start with something like wordpress or blogger just because you may find that blogging isn't your thing and if you do than you just paid money for something that you don't like. Plus it'll give you a chance to find your niche and work the kinks out before paying for anything. I love blogger, but I also haven't tried Wordpress, so it's all about which you find more comfortable.

  8. I leave a response each time I like a post on a website or
if I have something to valuable to contribute to the conversation. It's caused by the passion displayed in the post I read.
And on this post "Birthright by Vivian Eve".
I was excited enough to drop a thought :-P I actually do have some questions for you if you don't mind.
Could it be simply me or does it look like like a
few of the comments appear like written by brain dead visitors?
:-P And, if you are writing on other sites, I would
like to keep up with you. Could you list the complete urls of your public pages like your twitter feed, Facebook
    page or linkedin profile?
