The Strongest Steel by Scarlett Cole!

I love love loved this book! It captured me right from the start, both characters and plot line drawing me in and entrancing me refusing to let me go! I fell in love with both main characters and at no point did I ever want to put it down. Not until the very end and that was solely because it was coming to an end.

Scarlett Cole has created an amazing book and I look forward to reading the rest of the Second Circle Tattoos books to find out the stories of the other characters!

Under His Protection by Katie Reus

(Image found on NetGalley)
"When he just crossed his arms over his chest and gave her an almost challenging look, she blinked in surprise before annoyance surged up." -Katie Reus, Under His Protection

Julieta has worked hard, and now it's time to enjoy it all. But when creepy texts start being sent and rocks start flying can she keep herself safe? Ivan's been watching her from a distance, unsure of how to make his move. He's known for a while that she's the one for him. And when he finds out she's being stalked, his protective instincts kick in. Now will he be able to overcome Julieta's defenses or will he lose her for good? Find the official description on Goodreads.

Under His Protection is the ninth book in the Red Stone Security series, and while it can be read as a stand-alone be prepared to add the rest of the books to your TBR list. It definitely makes you curious about the other books and I'm adding these books to my TBR list.

Under His Protection certainly starts with a bang. It`s got an interesting opening, and one in which you meet both characters although you get a better look at Julieta than Ivan at this point in the book. It grabs reader`s attentions and I was certainly hooked from the very beginning.

There were changes in perspectives that can be misleading, and I was a little confused as there was very little indication when the perspective changed except for the fact that it seems very odd if it was from Julieta or Ivan's perspectives. And the fact that we did get the stalkers perspective definitely led to some misdirection in trying to discover who the stalker was.

I liked both of the characters. Julieta was certainly different, especially her occupation. And Ivan was an alpha male but one who tried to not give orders all the time(although he didn't always succeed).

Under His Protection was a great read, and I wish it would have been longer! I'm certainly adding the rest of Katie Reus' Red Stone Security books to my To Be Read list.

Irresistible Forces by D.D. Ayres

(Image found on Goodreads)

Shay Appleton couldn't be happier with the dog she rescued. Especially because he helps keep her ex away. But when a police officer shows up claiming that her dog is in fact named Bogart and is his partner, she can't believe it. Especially because Bogart is protection against both her ex and the past that is coming to haunt her. James just can't resist the woman who saved his partner and is strangely drawn to her. But when Shay's past catches up to her, can Bogart and he keep her safe? Find the official description on Goodreads.

Irresistible Forces starts out with a curious scene. One that raises questions for readers. But one that is also a way for readers to connect with the character of James. It's clear he cares for his K-9 partner and that's just sweet. Especially when we get to see the two interact. It's clear that they have a bond and it's great to read those scenes where James is interacting with Bogart. It's amusing as well. But again, helps readers feel like James is more flesh and blood than a character written by a writer.

Shay just made me ask a lot of questions. I was curious as to her past, especially because she was leery of going to the police. When you do find out about her past you realize that Shay is much stronger than you previously thought and it's amazing that she hasn't turned into someone who's a hermit or bitter. Instead she tries to live her life as normally as she can.

I loved the interactions between characters as well as Bogart. They could be humorous, they could be serious but they always felt as if it was important in some way. They kept the reader engaged and it was great to see.

I loved reading Irresistible Forces and you won't go wrong if you pick it up. Irresistible Forces is the first book in the K-9 Rescue series and is set to be released on August 26th, 2014. Think you'll pick it up?

Love Reborn by Victoria Bright

(Image found on Goodreads)
"He wished that he were able to function like a normal person and not a grieving fiancé."-Victoria Bright, Love Reborn
WARNING: This book contains sexual content and is not for younger readers.

Ahmed lost the love of his life and has vowed to never love another. But she is watching him and tries her best to send a message through Paris, a trainer that Ahmed hires to help him out. It helps that Ahmed has caught the attention of an editor of a tabloid magazine, Whitney O'Neal. But will he finally be able to let go? Or will Ahmed lose his chance at love? Find the official description on Goodreads.

Readers are thrown right in and I love that we get to see Victoria Bright's take on angels, heaven and everything in between. Not everyone is going to have the same thoughts on the subject and it's always nice to get someone else's perspective.

Ahmed's emotions run deep and Victoria Bright has no problem showing them and in such a way that she's not pushing them too far. It's easy to see the pain he is in but he also has a sense of humour and acts childish around his best friend. She also shows that he has baggage without constantly bringing it up and the same goes for Whitney.

The only thing I was iffy on was Paris but I think that's just because she was an angel in disguise and I couldn't quite connect with her? I almost felt as if I couldn't make a connection with her and so she certainly wasn't my favourite character.

Other than that I really enjoyed Love Reborn. It was an interesting read.
